Recipe: “Nut butter on wholewheat toast”



Ingredients

Nut Butter (Macadamia, almond or peanut butter)

Wholewheat toast (or rye)

Fruit


Method

Lightly toast your bread and add your nut butter. Almond butter is healthier than peanut butter in that it contains more vitamins, minerals and fibre. However peanut butter contains more protein! Macademian butter is much lower in carbs but higher in protein and fat than other nut butters. You can choose which nut butters according to your budget and child’s nutritional needs (& taste preferences!).


Add a side of fruit or veg to your child’s plate to increase their nutritional intake.
