MOM + INSPIRATION = MOMSPO

Three well-known South African mom bloggers from three different provinces (Gauteng, Western Cape & KZN) have come together to build South Africa's first and biggest modern SA mom community.

While great mama-hubs appear around the world: South Africa was really lacking their own.

With our growing local information, stories, inspiration and knowledge: we welcome you to YOUR modern South African Motherhood Hub.

We are a unique South African community who provide you a platform for all your parenting needs, stories & questions:

from bump to birth and beyond.

This is not about the founders and MomSpo team. This is about everyday South African Moms.

This is about sharing real and raw stories and information, providing a platform to inspire.

THIS IS ABOUT YOU.

Our goal is to help women realise they’re not alone.

Instead, we want to provide this space to inspire other mamas with stories of meaning, realness, hope and a realisation that,

SO, WHAT CAN YOU FIND HERE?

A membership community, where you can sign up to become a MomSpo member for free.

Create your own profile space on MomSpo with your bio, write your first blog post, sign up for exclusive services, or dive into our Member's Lounge to get VIP offers.

Once you're a member, get chatting in our chat rooms to connect with other South African Moms & Moms in your city.

Ask questions, make friends, and share your experiences. Motherhood is daunting, and personal advice and connection is invaluable. Very often all we need is someone to talk to or provide suggestions. Or a place to read inspo during the 3AM feed.

We monitor topics in our chat rooms and comments, and get specialists to address these topics.

Sharing their own knowledge, inspo and tips - therapists, doctors, and experts will appear in our forums and articles as guest or resident writers. Want to write for MomSpo? Sign up in your member dashboard.

We then monitor members reviews and suggestions for our Essentials Guide, too.

It's the only guide you'll ever need to prepare for your next step in parenthood. Here we feature products and brands available locally, and pair it with inspiration and tips.

And talking of guides, we also building the most extensive family friendly city guides.

Dive into our Gauteng, Western Cape & Kwa Zulu-Natal guides now which get updated daily so you know where to eat, play, party, adventure and picnic etc. Look out for each city's monthly MomSpo Top Picks.

And because travelling with kids is a whole new ball game, we'll be featuring family travel spots.

Watch out for travel deals in your members lounge, stay tuned for extensive reviews, and new travel spots we discover such as hotels, resorts, AIR BNB's, safari's, weekend getaways etc.

Other features include local baby, toddler, baking and family recipes for the busy family. Or scroll through events in your city that we've partnered with, or we love and are aligned to our brand. And, check out the Community page where you can see organisations, stories and movements close to our heart.

The best part? Because we've just launched - this is only the beginning.

"A PRETTY INCREDIBLE STORY"

It's a pretty incredible story, if you ask the MomSpo Founders. Ash, Dominique and Shan hadn't met each-other when MomSpo was officially born. The three of them met on Instagram through their personal blogs, and one would say the rest is history - but in between that was a lot of strategising, video calls, and group chats before they actually met. The reason for this trio is that each of them reside in a different part of South Africa - representing their own city, vision, and group of Moms. However, with that - means that the whole of MomSpo was built without the three founders in the same room. Incredible, right?

And then in June 2019, the three of them met for the very first time at the arrivals in King Shaka International Airport. Kate Martens captured this momentous day in Umhlanga, Durban. See the photoshoot below.

This really highlighted the possibility of building and creating meaningful connections online, and that is when MomSpo Chat Rooms was implemented. We hope many Moms can build connections, inspire, and support each-other through this platform.
