uShaka Marine World

uShaka is situated on Durban’s Golden Mile, in South Africa. Located in the centre of uShaka Marine World you can experience the salt water aquarium with indoor and outdoor displays and exhibits, a 1200 seater dolphin stadium where you'll be entertained by the world-famous Dolphins, the seal stadium and penguin rookery. In addition, Sea World offers edutainment tours behind the scenes and special interactive activities such as snorkelling through reefs and grottos and scuba dives.

Umgeni Bird Park
Designed and built in an old quarry site on the banks of the Umgeni River, just 10 minutes outside Durban, the Umgeni River Bird Park is one of the greatest attractions of the city.Walk-through aviaries, birds out on perches, wonderful green vegetation, some amazing waterfalls and rock faces all combine to make this a very special place to visit. The Umgeni River Bird Park’s main feature is a free-flight show that has as its focus a conservation theme to inspire visitors, as birds glide past them in full and unrestricted flight. To appreciate the beauty of the natural world around them. Macaws, a Cape Vulture, the critically endangered wattled crane and others take part in the first show of its kind in Africa. This show is scheduled at certain times during the day and is really worth seeing. Conservation is high on the park’s list of priorities. They breed 17 of the 23 endangered bird species that are kept in the park, and young chicks are fed hourly around the clock, avidly watched from a viewing window by visitors.

Mini Town
Minitown is a mini city in Durban. It is one of Durban's iconic beach front tourist attractions. It is a replica of Durban. It was established thirty years ago and is situated on Durban's Golden Mile. The buildings in Minitown are scaled down to 1:24 of their size. The buildings reach just above knee height and provide you with a perspective that would never be appreciated when walking through the city. It almost looks like a little toy land, as the miniature trains and planes move around the kids will be amazed and excited. There is even a miniature harbor with ships, as well as an airport. The first model was completed in 1963, Minitown is a miniature city with replicas of some of Durban's well-known buildings and all the models were made in Minitown itself. It’s amazing to see all the tiny details and effort that was put in to collaborating Minitown. Minitown is a major fund raising tool for the Quadriplegic Association of KwaZulu-Natal. It almost looks like a little toy land, as the miniature trains and planes move around the kids will be amazed and excited. There is even a miniature harbor with ships, as well as an airport. Minitown is for the young at heart, and makes an excellent family outing. It is a good way to spend some quality time with you little ones as both you and your children will be amazed at this city within a city.
